Frequently Asked Questions

What types of commercial concrete work do you handle?

We self perform structural foundations and building slabs, large scale flatwork including parking lots, drive lanes, warehouse floors, sidewalks and loading areas, reinforced retaining walls and grade control, metal building slabs, and concrete saw cutting and core drilling. Typical projects include retail centers, office buildings, warehouses and distribution space, medical and dental buildouts, restaurants, self storage, and light industrial facilities. If a scope falls outside what we self perform, we will tell you upfront rather than learn it on your job.

Both. A significant share of our commercial work comes from general contractors and construction managers who need a concrete sub that shows up on schedule, works from the drawings, and does not create punch list problems for the trades that follow. We also contract directly with developers, property managers, and owners on standalone scopes such as parking lot replacement, dock repairs, or a new pad. We are comfortable with either delivery method, including AIA style pay applications and lien waivers.

Commercial concrete is priced off the drawings and the specification, not off a square foot rule of thumb, because thickness, PSI, reinforcement, subgrade preparation, jointing, and finish tolerance all move the number substantially. We take off quantities from your plans, price material and reinforcement to the actual spec, and break the proposal into line items so you can see demolition, excavation and grading, base material, reinforcement, concrete, finishing, jointing, and cleanup separately. That structure makes it easy to compare bids apples to apples and to value engineer a scope without guesswork.

Yes, and it is one of the more common requests we get from property managers. Retail centers, restaurants, medical offices, and distribution facilities usually cannot shut down for a pour, so we phase the work so a portion of the parking, the drive lane, or the dock stays in service while another section cures. Night and weekend pours are available when daytime traffic makes them necessary. We plan the phasing, barricading, and traffic control with you before mobilizing so tenants and customers know what to expect.

Yes. We are a licensed and insured Texas contractor, and we furnish certificates of insurance naming the general contractor or owner as additional insured on request, along with W9s and any prequalification paperwork your process requires. If a project requires bonding, tell us during the bid phase so we can address it in the proposal rather than after award.

Yes. On structural scopes we build to the engineered plans, follow the specified mix designs and reinforcement schedules, and coordinate directly with the structural engineer, the geotechnical consultant, and the third party testing lab. We accommodate scheduled inspections for reinforcement placement, slump and air testing, and cylinder breaks. If we see a conflict between the drawings and field conditions, we raise it as an RFI before placing concrete, not after.

For most commercial scopes we can be on site within one to three weeks of a signed contract, depending on current backlog, permitting, and how quickly submittals are approved. Large pours that require ready mix scheduling, pump trucks, or a laser screed crew need more coordination. Weather is the variable we cannot control, since we will not place or finish concrete in conditions that compromise the result. We give a realistic schedule at bid time and update you when anything moves.
